The news is well and truly out, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite has been officially announced as the next big augmented reality (AR) game to be released by Niantic Labs in collaboration with Warner Bros, after the companies previous game, Pokémon Go.
Well, there is a lot of hype surrounding the new game, details, such as the release date are still very much under wraps. We have done some research and we think we have a pretty good idea as to when Wizards Unite will be released.
Niantic Labs previous AR game, Pokémon Go was announced in September of 2015, just like Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, details were scarce. Pokémon Go was then released on the World July, 6th, 2016 (10 months later). Due to the augmented nature of the game, we predict that development and testing will be completed in a similar timeframe to Pokémon Go. So, ten months after the initial announcement would mean that Harry Potter: Wizards Unite would be set for release in September of 2018.
Please note that this is not an official announcement, but rather an educated prediction. We suspect that we will be given more information by Niantic Labs and Warner Bros shortly, so we will keep you updated on any official news or you can refer to the official Harry Potter: Wizards Unite website here.
